Vietnam Visa Requirements
Guests visiting Vietnam as part of their Explorations by Norwegian voyage should review the visa requirements below before travelling.
For most nationalities, a Vietnam Transit Visa on Arrival (VOA) is issued at the ship's first Vietnamese port of call, providing a simple and streamlined arrival process.
Transit Visa on Arrival
The Vietnam Transit Visa on Arrival is issued when the ship arrives at its first Vietnamese port.
Guests are not required to complete visa applications, provide passport photographs, or submit passport copies in advance for the ship-arranged transit visa.
The visa is valid for:
- One entry only
- A stay of up to 15 days
- Travel within Vietnam while the ship remains in Vietnamese waters
Once the ship departs Vietnam and enters another country, the transit visa becomes invalid.

⚠️ Guests who require a Vietnamese visa must obtain one even if they intend to remain on board and not go ashore.
Vietnamese eVisas
Vietnamese electronic visas (eVisas) are accepted.
However, Vietnamese immigration authorities are known to reject eVisas containing spelling errors, incorrect passport information, or even minor typographical mistakes.
Guests who choose to obtain an eVisa before travel should carefully verify all information before submitting their application.

Passport holders from the countries listed below do not require a visa to go ashore in Vietnam.

Before You Travel
To ensure a smooth arrival in Vietnam, please make sure you:
✅ Confirm whether your nationality is visa-exempt or requires a visa.
✅ Ensure your passport contains at least two completely blank visa pages.
✅ Carefully check all information if applying for a Vietnamese eVisa independently.
✅ Carry all required travel documentation throughout your voyage.
